Digital Nation

Ms. Shawn,

We were unable to end the movie, because the video beam did not work and they took too long to bring a TV and a DVD. Here are the agree/disagree statements that I was able to do.

Statements:
I do not agree that multitasking is 'dumbing' the world, they're smarting it since you can now do many things at the same time and it increases effectiveness.

I do agree that technology submerges us in different digital worlds, but they really don't take us away from the other, real, world.

I do not agree that using laptops in Universities is not making the learning process effective, but the students decision and their individual capability. They need to realize if they can or cannot according to the person.

Brains can do things at once, because you can chew gum and walk, think and make your heart beat. So your brain can multitask.

I agree with the doctors sometimes when they say that multitaskers get slower when multitasking because  it does distract people. But the level of multitasking differs.

I do agree with the neurologist because going on Google is interacting with more parts if your brain than reading a book.

I agree that technology is completely submerged in our world, since we now use it for everything.

I agree with the addiction to the Internet, because a constant use of it, can cause a yearning for more. This is why I think that parents should control this.

I agree with Young-Ils mother, since the computer makes it hard to be good at school. It is an addiction. In the recent future, the Internet will be considered a drug.

I agree that the kids which are addicted to the Internet are casualties of the digital revolution.

I agree that the Internet has evolved the the human being, and childhood.

I agree that the web is now how one lives, not what one does.

I agree with the Korean government by applying the responsible use of computers and its ethics and etiquette.

I agree with the boy's parents who send him to a school where a laptop is necessary since it is a great tool and one he'll be using for the rest of his life, and he should learn appropriate ways to use it. (as well as new ways).
